Xiaomi introduced a new sky replacement feature in the MIUI 11 Gallery app back in May last year. As the name suggests, the feature allowed users to replace the sky in any of their images with a different sky present on the app. The feature included a number of different presets that could give your photos a completely different look and make them seem like that they were clicked in completely different weather conditions. Then, earlier this month, we learned that Xiaomi had added a new video editor to the MIUI 11 Gallery app on its flagship Mi 10, which included a boatload of features to help users edit their videos. Now, it seems like Xiaomi has combined these two features and will be introducing new weather effect filters for videos in the MIUI Gallery app.

The upcoming weather filters were discovered by XDA Junior Member kacskrz in the MIUI Gallery version 2.2.15.12 from the latest MIUI 11 China Developer ROM. The feature could, most likely, be called "dynamic sky filter" and it lets you apply a rain or snow filter to your videos. Igor Eisberg from the Xiaomi.eu team managed to manually activate the feature and shared the attached videos that showcase what you can do with the new weather filters.

As you can see, the weather filters just add a very realistic rain or snow overlay to the video and give it a completely different aesthetic. As of now, Xiaomi has revealed no information about this new feature and the filters will seemingly only be available for the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro upon release. It's also worth noting that Xiaomi may add more weather filters to the feature before it's officially released.
