Of late, Motorola has been launching phones with a new zeal. Irrespective of whether it is the positivity brought by the attention and coverage of the new Motorola Razr or just the fear of losing out to the competition, Motorola's new portfolio looks really diverse and robust. The company is also likely to make a comeback in the premium segment with the leaked Moto Edge+ soon. In its new entry-level and mid-range lineup, Motorola first introduced the Moto G8 Plus and Moto G8 Play followed by the Moto G Power and Moto G Stylus, and then the Moto G8. Now, it is launching the Moto G8 Power Lite with a mega 5,000mAh battery, 64GB storage, and triple cameras.

Just as the Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite leak had suggested, it features a 6.5-inch HD+ "Max Vision" display. The phone runs on an octa-core Mediatek Helio P35 chipset with a peak frequency of 2.3GHz. You get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as the standard for the smartphone and the storage can be further expanded by up to 256GB with a micro SD card.

The triple camera setup on the back includes a 16MP primary sensor along with a macro camera, seemingly identical to what we saw on the Motorola One Macro (camera review). Other than these, there is a 2MP depth sensor on the phone.

Coming to its battery life, the Moto G8 Power Lite's 5,000mAh battery is claimed to last two days. With an entry-level processor and an HD+ display, this is expected. In addition, the phone also supports charging at 10W, which isn't fast by today's standards. The company's Mexican site reports it uses an 18W charger but that may be a mistake.

The phone comes with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and it does support Moto gestures.

Motorola will start selling the Moto G8 Power Lite in Mexico and Germany and it will eventually be available in parts of Asia, Australia, Europe, and LATAM over the coming weeks. In Germany, the phone will be available for a price of €169.
