Update (8/7/19 @ 1:50 PM ET): We now have possible pricing and launch details for the Motorola One Action.

Motorola seems to have embraced the Android One program in recent months. Their first Android One smartphone was the Moto X4, but last year they created a new lineup called the Motorola One series. The Motorola One and One Power were joined this year by the Motorola One Vision. It's an interesting smartphone because it not only has a 21:9 aspect ratio but it's also powered by a Samsung Exynos processor. We've heard credible rumors that Motorola is preparing to launch yet another Exynos-powered Android One phone with a 21:9 display, the Motorola One Action. Now, a smartphone by this name has appeared on the Google Play Console and Android Enterprise Recommended listings, confirming many specifications such as the Exynos 9609 processor and the tall 21:9 display.

Motorola One Action

The above render was pulled from the Play Console's Device Catalog. It shows off the Motorola One Action with its single punch-hole display. The device looks similar to the Motorola One Vision from the front, and its listed specifications are quite similar, too. Here's a summary of the specifications revealed by the two listings:

  • Processor: Samsung Exynos 9609 (an underclocked Exynos 9610)
  • Display: 6.3-inch 21:9 FHD+ (2520x1080)
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Storage: 128GB
  • Software: Android 9 Pie (Android One)
  • NFC

The device is also rumored to have a 3,500mAh battery and a 12.6MP front-facing camera.

Apart from these specifications, the render in the feature image hints at a triple rear camera configuration instead of the One Vision's two. Furthermore, the image shows that one of those cameras is a “117° Action Cam.” The marketing name suggests this camera will be used for action shots.

The code-name mentioned in the listing is "troika_sprout." We previously confirmed that the Motorola One Vision was being developed alongside a device code-named "troika." According to the evidence that we uncovered at that time, the device appears to be headed to Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, India, Latin America, and China. Given that the device has appeared on Google Play (meaning it has received Android certification), its announcement shouldn't be too far off, so we'll likely confirm all of these details fairly soon.

Evan Blass (of @evleaks fame) claims that Motorola is working on two more Android One smartphones: the Motorola One Pro and Motorola One Macro. The Motorola One Pro is rumored to have quad rear cameras, but we don't know anything about the Motorola One Macro just yet.

Update: Possible Pricing and Launch

The Motorola One Action appeared on Amazon Germany and revealed a few more details. It was listed at 299 euros ($335) for the 4GB RAM/128GB storage variant. The 3GB RAM version should be even cheaper, but the price was not listed. Also, it's possible that Motorola will show off the One Action at IFA 2019 in September along with other new One series devices. Amazon listed the availability as September 13th.
