MultiROM Available for the Sony Xperia Z and OnePlus One
Android is a beautiful platform, full of surprising and interesting ideas. Without a doubt, one of the coolest projects that has been introduced to the community in recent memory is MultiROM by XDA Recognized Developer Tassadar. This project allows you to boot many various ROMs and even operating systems from the SD Card of your device.
Not so long ago, MultiROM was ported over to the Moto G and its wallet-friendly brother, the Moto E. Those two devices aren’t the only non-Nexus phones that have gotten a working port. There are two new members in the MultiROM family, the OnePlus One and the Sony Xperia Z.
The port for the Sony Xperia Z, which was recently updated to Android 4.4.4, has been made by XDA Recognized Contributor Olivier and is described as Beta. It’s based on OmniROM’s device tree. OnePlus One’s users have the opportunity to play with MultiROM thanks to XDA Recognized Developer KINGbabasula. Unlike the Xperia Z’s version, it’s considered as stable, so there should be no noticeable flaws present.
It’s nice to see ports for non-Nexus devices, since this requires a bit of a work during the adaptation process. Those devices are certainly popular, so if you are a happy owner of one or both of them, don’t hesitate to visit the threads for MultiROM on the Xperia Z (yuga) and MultiROM on the OnePlus One (bacon).
