Nokia 3.1 Plus launched in India as part of the Android One program

The Nokia 3.1 Plus is a budget phone aimed at the Indian market and features some decent specifications for the price. Not only is the MediaTek Helio P22 a decent system-on-chip in terms of energy draw, but the 3,500mAh battery is nothing to scoff at. While the inclusion of a microUSB charging port is disappointing in a smartphone launched in late-2018, it's understandable given it's still what competitors in the region are using for some of their smartphones. With a 3GB RAM variant available for purchase, this is certainly not a bad phone at all.

But the Nokia 3.1 Plus' best trait is the software. The Android One program ensures that updates are held to a higher standard than what just any Android OEM can send out for their devices. Android One smartphones typically remain close to stock Android, with the ultimate premise being that they will receive quicker major updates and security patches. The updates do not come directly from Google themselves. This particular device launches with Android Oreo but will be upgradeable in the future to Android Pie.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus will be available for purchase on October 19th from Nokia's online store and from various retailers throughout India. It has a starting price of Rs 11,499 for the 2GB RAM 16GB storage variant. Airtel users will also get 1TB of data for free with plans costing Rs 199 per month.
