Nokia 8 Sirocco’s Android Pie update is rolling out now
Last month, HMD Global started rolling out the stable Android Pie update to the Nokia 8. In that article, we mentioned Nokia 8 Sirocco users were feeling forgotten. The Nokia 8 Sirocco was supposed to get Android Pie in November, but the month came and passed, then December went by without a word as well. Finally, the Android Pie update is rolling out to the Sirocco.
This marks the 8th Nokia-brand smartphone to get Android Pie, and it’s one of HMD Global’s best devices. Unlike some of the other Android Pie releases for Nokia-branded devices, the Nokia 8 Sirocco’s update includes the staple Android Pie features Adaptive Battery and App Actions. Adaptive Brightness, Slices, and the new gesture navigation is also present. The Nokia 8 Sirocco also gets access to Digital Wellbeing features, which are exclusive to Google Pixel and Android One phones.
HMD Global did not give much of a timeline for this update, but we expect it to follow their usual gradual rollout. Check the Settings of your Nokia 8 Sirocco to see if the OTA update is available. Keep an eye out in the forums for download links.
