Many laughed at the thought of the gaming smartphone becoming its own product category. But we're actually seeing more and more companies these days launching devices specifically geared at gamers. In a lot of ways, it makes sense as the "Games" category is by far the most popular (and lucrative) in these mobile app stores. Nubia launched the Red Magic Mars gaming smartphone in China in November of last year. At first, many felt it wasn't going to be made available in other regions, but those of you in the United States, Canada, and Europe can now pre-order the device.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has actually spent a lot of effort to bring this device to other markets. A Snapdragon 835 model of the device was brought to India only a month after its launch in China with a price tag of ₹29,999 (which is about $430). But it wasn't until last month that it was confirmed the company had plans to bring it to North America and Europe. At the time we were told the Red Magic Mars would be available in these additional markets at the end of January, but that seems to have only been the pre-order date.

At this time, the company has yet to announce an official release date for the Red Magic Mars. However, they are pushing the incentive for those who are interested to go ahead and pre-order the phone. Not only will you get a price discount on the version of your choice, but you can also claim what they're calling a "reward crate" which could be a dbrand skin, Red Magic stickers, or a teammate gift card (all are limited in availability). Not only that but once the pre-order phase is over the company will choose 5 people and they will receive a full refund of their purchase price.
