Chinese company OnePlus is the relative newcomer to the phone space. Their second entrant into the industry, the OnePlus 2, is positioned as a "flagship killer" yet reviewers have criticized this platform due to the phone not having key specifications that are found in high-end offerings from Samsung and others, like NFC, wireless charging, fast charging, and a QHD display.

Compared to the original OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 has a fingerprint sensor which can be altered via software to launch certain apps such as the camera. Also new to the OnePlus 2 is the Snapdragon 810 v2.1 CPU, an extra gigabyte of RAM (bringing the total to 4GB), an improved camera, and an upgrade to Android 5.1.1 with Oxygen OS 2.0, representing a break from CyanogenMod found on the original device. The OnePlus 2 is the first phone to utilize a USB Type C connector. USB Type C is agreed by most to be the future of USB connectors and will take the place of the traditional rectangular plug found on all USB devices available today.

Reviewers say: Many reviewers agree that the OnePlus 2 is a great value at $329 for the 16GB ROM/3GB RAM model and $389 for the 64GB ROM/4GB RAM model, but some have expressed disappointment with the screen resolution, which is unchanged from the OnePlus One. Otherwise, in-hand feel is lauded, as is overall device performance and camera quality in settings that have enough light (most reviewers found the low-light performance to be just mediocre).
