The OnePlus 6T is coming very soon, in fact, the event is just a couple of weeks away. The company has been slowly revealing features ahead of the launch. We know it will have an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, no headphone jack, and a waterdrop notch, among other things. Today, a OnePlus Staff Member posted an interview with User Experience Lead, Crayon Hsiehhas. They shared some details about OxygenOS on the OnePlus 6T.

According to the forum post, the OnePlus 6T will be getting a “whole new UI.” They claim it will be the “most distinct and intuitive” version of OxygenOS yet. Speed is an important focus for OxygenOS and the “Fast, Smooth, and Efficient” team has been working on optimizing the hardware. OnePlus introduced navigational gestures on the OnePlus 6 and they will evolve further on the OnePlus 6T.

Swiping up from the center in an app will move the window with your finger. You will be able to quickly switch to the previous app by flicking from the bottom to the right of the screen. OnePlus is also adding a gesture to launch Google Assistant: hold the power button for half a second. We really like OnePlus’ gesture system. You can do the same thing with our Navigation Gestures app.

To wrap up the interview, they talked about optimizing OxygenOS to use as little power as possible. The FSE team is working on using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 to the best of its ability. A new AI-based algorithm will even learn when you sleep and minimize background usage during those times. The OnePlus 6T is sounding like an exciting device and OxygenOS is a big part of that. Soon, we’ll know all the details about this phone.
