OnePlus 7 Pro price cut by $100 in Canada, difference will be credited to existing buyers
The OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the best flagship smartphones this year. The 7 Pro is OnePlus’ first attempt at selling a Pro model, and while it’s priced higher than any other OnePlus smartphone, it’s still cheaper than comparable flagships. However, because OnePlus sells devices in many countries, its affordability may vary. For example, when the OnePlus 7 Pro initially launched in Canada, its base price was 999 CAD. This week, though, OnePlus has cut the price of all models of the OnePlus 7 Pro by 100 Canadian Dollars. Even better is that people who already bought the phone will get credit for the price difference.
Reddit user CryptoMiningNS informed the /r/OnePlus community about the email they received from OnePlus notifying them about the price cut. MobileSyrup also reported on the price cut. The email’s content has been reproduced below:
“Dear friend, OnePlus has adjusted the cost of the OnePlus 7 Pro in Canada. Please see updated pricing below:
6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage: $899
8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: $939
12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: $1009
Anyone who purchased the OnePlus 7 Pro between 10AM ET, May 17 and 12PM ET, June 28 is eligible for cashback that covers the price difference.
According to our records, your recent purchase is eligible for cashback. Funds will automatically be deposited to your account via your supplied payment method before July 15. If you have not received your cashback by July 15, please contact OnePlus Support for further assistance.”
The price cut covers all three color variants of the device: Mirror Gray, Nebula Blue, and the newly released Almond. If you bought your device in Canada, you should also receive this email in the coming days, if you haven’t received it already. Make sure to set a reminder for July 15th to request your cashback if something unexpected happens and the payment is due.
It’s possible that the OnePlus cut the price of the devices in celebration of Canada Day on July 1st, but there’s no confirmation from OnePlus that this is the case. AndroidAuthority confirmed with OnePlus that these price cuts are permanent, so there’s no rush to buy the phone if you’re already considering it.
