In the company’s typical fashion, OnePlus has been slowly revealing details about the OnePlus 7T ahead of its launch this Thursday. We’ve already seen official renders of the device, we know it will have a 90Hz display, we know it will be cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro, and we know it will also charge faster than last year’s model. The next bit of news has to do with software, and it’s good news: Android 10 will ship on the OnePlus 7T.

This is no surprise if you’ve followed OnePlus’ recent OxygenOS updates. Shortly after Google released Android 10 for the Google Pixel phones, OnePlus had an Open Beta of Android 10 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. Last week, OnePlus released the stable version of OxygenOS 10.0 based on Android 10 for the OnePlus 7/Pro. So the software is clearly ready for the OnePlus 7T.

While it may not be ground-breaking news, it’s still nice to know the OnePlus 7T will be released with the latest version of Android. We’ll surely see many phones still launch with Android Pie some time into next year. OnePlus does a good job with their software support and starting with the latest and greatest is more evidence of that. Plus we can expect the phone to at least receive updates to Android 11 and Android 12 and possibly Android 13 if we’re lucky. We’ll learn more about the OnePlus 7T (and OnePlus TV) later this week.
