OnePlus 2 Audio Quality
One of my favorite things to do is listen audio clips of dogs barking, as I run around on all fours in my apartment, with all the lights off. It transports me to a different world, where I can be true to myself. RUFF RUFF! In order to get me into a zone, where this will all feel authentic, I need to have a phone with really good speakers. Audio quality is of utmost importance when it comes to doggy role playing.
I decided to get the OnePlus 2, as it was an affordable phone, and I could keep it in my back pocket while I run around. I downloaded some dog audio to test it out. Let’s take a look at the audio quality of the OnePlus 2.
The OnePlus 2 has a single speaker on the bottom of the phone. While the speaker has decent volume, you won’t be listening to any music on this thing. It just doesn’t have the sound that you would expect from a “Flagship Killer”. It would have been really nice to see some front-facing speakers.
For my case, this won’t be too much of an issue. Any spoken words or sounds, sound very nice. For people who enjoy listening to audio book or stuff like that, you won’t have any trouble at all.
The OnePlus 2 has three microphones for in-call audio, noise cancellation, and video/recording audio.
Sometimes when I can’t find the right audio to play during my doggy sessions, I’ll just record my own sounds. When holding the phone an appropriate distance from my mouth, I’ll bark and pant like a dog. The recorded audio actually sounds pretty good. Here is a sample.
So the speakers are good for Audio books and podcasts, but not much else. The microphone is pretty standard and the recording quality is just fine.
I have to go now. It’s time to play fetch.
