Possible Honor View 20 Event Expected on January 22
With George Zhao (Honor Executive) confirming that the Honor View 20 should be expected some time in 2019, we wanted to go over everything that we are expecting to see in the new phone from Honor. There’s also been a leak that reveals a January 22 event in Pairs with the tagline “See the Unseen”. Little is known about this event, but we expect it will have something to do with the Magic 2, the View 20 or the Honor 11.
The Honor View 10 came shortly before the release of the Honor 10, and both phone share many similarities. You will probably be able to get a good idea of what will be in the Honor 11 based on what we know about the Honor View 20.
This is apparently a leaked image of the display that will be on the Honor View 20. Notice the water drop notch at the top which houses the selfie camera. This is different from what we see in the promotional photo for the January 22 event [Photo at top of article]. We believe the phone featured in the promo image is the Honor View 20, so is it a hole notch or a water drop notch? We will have to wait and see.
Aside from the display, we know a bit about the chipset that will come with the Honor View 20. The chipset will be the Kirin 980 which was featured in the Huawei Mate 20. This is an extremely powerful processor and will most likely be paired with 6GB of RAM.
As far as software goes, the phone will ship with Android Pie running EMUI 9.0. There’s no word on if it will feature any of Honor’s latest software features like real-time in-call translation.
There is no information on which countries can expect a View 20 launch, but we should expect to learn more on January 22.
