If you’ve been following Android hardware development in the last year, you almost certainly stumbled upon Project Tango–a feature rich tablet with multiple cameras and really tasty hardware specifications.

We’ve talked about Project Tango back in June, when Google announced it for a rather pricey sum of $1024. Now, the Project Tango tablet has officially been made available on the Google Play Store. Before you start looking for money under your grandma’s mattress, we need to warn you that it’s not for sale just quite yet.

$1024 seems like a rather high price for a device that us sold “as is.” If you manage to break it, you won’t be able to send it under warranty, and you won’t get a refund. This might be a risky investment, especially for the developers who would want to root it or bake some custom kernels for it. We hope that some of them end up taking the risk though.

If you want to buy this 7” tablet with the powerful Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC, 4 gigs of RAM, 128 gigs of built-in memory, 1920 x 1200 display, and multiple cameras and sensors, you can visit its listing on the Google Play Store.
