Razer released their second gaming smartphone late last year. The phone came with numerous improvements over the first generation like the addition of wireless charging and RGB lighting. The Razer Phone 2 launched with Android 8.1 Oreo, but unlocked and Three carrier versions of the Razer Phone 2 have started receiving the Android 9 Pie update. The Android Pie update brought new software features like gesture navigation, 4K video recording at 60FPS, and Digital Wellbeing for the device. Now, the company has released the kernel source code along with the factory images for this new update.
Although the company didn't release the kernel source code and factory images as soon as the update became available, you can now grab them from their developer portal linked below. For those developers interested in building custom AOSP-based ROMs, custom kernels, or having a factory image handy for restoring from a bad flash, you can now grab everything you need from Razer.

We don't know when the original Razer Phone will get the Android Pie update, but when we find out we'll let you all know. We're hoping to see the second generation Razer get updated to Android Q, though we don't think the first generation Razer will get an updated beyond Android Pie. Razer may surprise us, though. A new report claims they're working on a third generation smartphone, contradicting an earlier report claiming it had been canceled.
