After rolling out the December security patch update to the Realme 1 and Realme U1 earlier this week, Realme is now extending the rollout to the Realme 3 Pro. The new update, version RMX1851EX_11.A.21, is based on Android 9.0 Pie (ColorOS 6) and besides the December 2019 security patches, it also brings along various improvements, feature additions and bug fixes to the device.

Just like the Realme 1 / U1 update, the Realme 3 Pro's December 2019 security update also adds a toggle in the Notification Center to quickly turn on the system-wide dark mode along with the Flash On Call feature to notify the user about an incoming call by blinking the flash.

The update has already started hitting the Realme 3 Pro devices in India, Europe, and Russia. In case if you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can manually update your device by downloading the OTA‌ zip from the link given below and then flashing it from within the recovery.

The Realme 3 Pro was launched in April of this year, packing a 6.3-inch full HD+ LCD, Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, a 16MP primary camera and 25MP‌ front camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging support via a 20W VOOC 3.0 charger.

Realme has promised to update the Realme 3 Pro to Android 10 based on ColorOS 7. While the company hasn’t shared the exact date for the update just yet, as per the ColorOS‌ 7 rollout schedule shared by Mr. Madhav Sheth last month, the Realme 3 Pro is expected to receive a stable update around January 2020.
