The Red Magic 3 gaming phone with a 90Hz display, internal fan, and Snapdragon 855 is coming to North America and Europe

ZTE’s Nubia is poised to expand its portfolio of gaming products outside of China. The company will soon bring its latest gaming smartphone – Nubia Red Magic 3 – to a long list of countries across North America, Europe, and certain parts of Asia starting later this month.

The Red Magic 3 was launched in China last month and is equipped with the latest and the most powerful internals, including an advanced cooling setup. Foremost, it comes with an active cooling system that includes an “internal turbo fan” and this makes it the first smartphone with an actual moving fan inside. The smartphone draws its power from a Snapdragon 855 chipset, which can be paired with up to 12GB of RAM. Additionally, there up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage on the smartphone.

Design-wise, the Red Magic 3 resembles Nubia’s previous devices like the Red Magic Mars, but it also features two capacitive shoulder triggers. These buttons along with the fingerprint scanner on the back can be programmed for in-game actions. The smartphone also features an RGB strip on the back which can be customized for up to 16.8 million colors.

On the front of the Red Magic 3, there’s a 6.65-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refreshed rate for a smoother gaming experience. The display also supports feature such as HDR+ and DC dimming. The smartphone also sports front-facing dual speakers which support DTS:X.

For its power backup, the Red Magic 3 relies on a large 5,000mAh battery and supports fast charging at 30W, along with 27W USB-PD and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 support. In terms of photography, the smartphone features a single camera with 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor on the back. Meanwhile, the camera on the front is a 16MP shooter.

While the Red Magic 3 starts at 2,899 yuan (~$430) in China, its pricing in the other regions is yet to be announced. As for its availability, the smartphone will be available starting May 27th via official Red Magic store in the following regions:

The company is also running a bunch of promotional offers including a “Beat the Heat” campaign. Winners of the campaign will get discounts and other freebies along with the Red Magic 3.
