RingThru Lets You Silence Your Ringer for All But a Select Few
Let’s face it–we’re all guilty of screening and selectively answering our phone calls. Heck, most of us have been doing this ever since the advent of caller ID. While some may consider it somewhat disrespectful to only answer calls from a select few, it’s a fact of life that we’re all busy and have limited amounts of time to waste. So why waste it talking to people you would rather avoid?
Luckily, there are plenty of tools available for Android that help keep you free from distractions but allow your most important contacts to reach you when necessary. XDA Forum Member jollz04 recently created one such solution called RingThru, which works by letting you set a default notification setting (ring/silent/vibrate) and allowing only certain whitelisted contacts to bypass this.
For example, you can silence or place your phone on vibrate for all but a select group of your closest buddies so that telemarketers can’t bug you, but friends can contact you in the event of an emergency. Alternatively, you can also use the app in reverse by setting your phone to ring for most contacts but vibrate or be silent for a select few who tend to get on your nerves.
If you’ve been wanting an easy and streamlined app that lets you customize who can contact you, head over to the RingThru application thread to give this a shot.
