The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is the next big upcoming Samsung phone. There have been many leaks and rumors already showing off the design and some new software launching with the phone. Now, we have even more rumors and leaks showing a larger battery and faster wireless charging.

Prolific Samsung leaker IceUniverse posted on Twitter today saying“100% sure, Galaxy Note9 battery 4000mAh.” This is great for users. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ all have decent battery life. Their batteries range from 3000 mAh on the S9 to 3500 mAh on the S9,+ with the Note 8 coming in the middle with 3300 mAh. A 4000 mAh battery is a huge upgrade over the smaller ones on the current flagships. This size battery paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 will result in what is probably some of the best battery life on any mainstream flagship smartphone. Apparently, the new arrangement of the horizontal cameras and fingerprint scanner underneath is what allows for the larger battery to be put into the phone.

GalaxyClub.nl also discovered that Samsung is planning on releasing a faster wireless charger with the Galaxy Note 9. They found this through the FCC filing of the new product. The model number is EP-N6100. In the FCC filing, it says the wireless charger will be a 12 volt 2.1 amp input. The current charging input on Samsung’s latest fast chargers is only 9 volts at 1.67 amps. This new charger will have a lot more power to send to the phone, which will result in much faster wireless charging. In my own experiences with fast chargers and fast wireless chargers, they are almost the same charging speed. My fast wireless charger takes about 10 extra minutes to charge my Galaxy S9+, so if the wireless charger is getting upgraded to this extent, it might be even faster than the wired charger. This will be important for juicing up the big 4000 mAh battery.

All of these new rumors are great, and go well with the earlier rumors of Bixby 2.0 launching with the Galaxy Note 9. Bixby 2.0 is supposed to add better natural language processing, better voice isolation, and faster response times. The new design was also leaked last week with dual rear cameras and a better fingerprint scanner position. The rumor claims this was moved to make room for the new larger battery. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is supposed to launch on August 9th in New York.
