Samsung announces “Ice Blue” Galaxy S9/S9+ with gradient color scheme
A great way to get your phone from earlier in the year back in the headlines is a new color option. We’ve seen this tactic many times before, and Samsung is certainly no stranger to it. The latest trend in smartphone colors is gradients. Samsung has announced a new “Ice Blue” gradient color for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in China.
This is Samsung’s first major flagship phone with a gradient color scheme. They’ve dabbled with the look in their mid-range devices. The “Ice Blue” gradient starts with blue at the top and transitions to silver at the bottom. We really dig the look, but unfortunately, it will only be available in China. If you live in China, you can snag the Ice Blue variant starting tomorrow for 5,499 ($790) and 6,499 ($930) CNY.
We’ve heard rumors of the Galaxy S10 being available in gradient colors, and the OnePlus 6T was just released in a “Thunder Purple” gradient. This is clearly a new trend in smartphone design and we really like it. What are your thoughts on the “Ice Blue” Galaxy S9? Would you buy a phone with a gradient color scheme? Or do you stick with the standard black and white options?
