The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e launched earlier this year as a lightweight media consumption device. It has a beautiful 10-inch WQXGA AMOLED display and slim bezels on all sides. The Tab S5e is also one of Samsung's cheaper tablets, making it an attractive package. The company is rolling out an update to the Tab S5e LTE as well as the Exynos Galaxy S9/S9+ with new features.
Call & Message Continuity is a feature that allows users to make and answer calls and texts from other devices on their Samsung account. Originally, it was only available on the Galaxy S10 paired with a Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab S5e. Other devices in the Galaxy A series and the WiFi Tab S4 were later added. Now, the Exynos Galaxy S9/S9+ and Galaxy Tab S5e LTE have the ability. The feature works in any direction, so you can access calls, texts, and make them from any device connected.
Call & Message Continuity can also do call forking, call transfers, message syncing, and log sync between devices. When a call comes in, it pops up on both the "primary" and "secondary" device. You can even transfer a call from device to device and continue the call. RCS is also supported with Call & Message Continuity.
The update for the Galaxy S9/S9+ is for the Global Exynos variants and it includes the July 2019 security patches. The Galaxy Tab S5e update is rolling out in the UK and South Korea right now and also includes the June 2019 security patches. Bixby fans will also be happy to know the Tab S5e update makes Bixby accessible from the Power button.
