Many people call the features that Samsung adds into Samsung Experience (previously called TouchWiz) "bloatware" because they may end up using 5% of what is available. Naturally, what is and what is not bloatware is subjective because we all use our smartphones differently, but Samsung has recently begun experimenting with new features via modules in an application called Good Lock. This month the South Korean conglomerate pushed out an update to the application and along with some changes to previous features, it comes with a new multi-window module called MultiStar.

So, if you're a fan of the Good Lock 2018 application and you have it installed on your compatible Samsung device, then you'll want to look out for a new update via the Galaxy App Store. As I mentioned, the headlining feature of this new update is a new module called MultiStar (which sadly is only compatible with Android 8.1 Oreo and later, meaning so far only the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or users on the leaked Android Pie builds for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.) The Good Lock update also comes with a number of changes to previous features as well. LockStar now supports Routines and gained the ability to create clocks with ClockFace. Routines had some NFC action behavior bugs fixed and one that pertained to the battery remaining condition as well.

You can check the image above for the full list of changes, but the big new feature is a new module called MultiStar.

We have some screenshots provided by XDA Senior Contributor and Video Producer Daniel Marchena that gives us a look at the capabilities of just what MultiStar adds to Good Lock 2018. Right off the bat, we learn that we can use multi-window without pausing apps, so with this setup properly you can actually play a mobile game while also watching a video. Next up we have a feature called Ghost Mode that allows you to adjust the transparency of your pop-up window. This feature currently supports 5 transparency levels at 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%.

Another new feature added to Samsung Good Lock 2018 is called Floating Notification, which will display incoming notifications in the form of icons when enabled. You then have the ability to tap on the icon to open up the application in a pop-up window. Check the Galaxy Apps Store to update Good Lock on your Samsung phone.
