Earlier this year, Samsung retired its Galaxy J series and strengthened the existing Galaxy A series. In its refreshed avatar, the new Galaxy A series caters to the collective expectations of consumers in the entry-level as well as the mid-range segments. Just before this realignment, Samsung also launched the Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A50 with Infinity-U Super AMOLED displays, up to triple rear cameras, and a 3D Glasstic design. The two smartphones were recently refreshed with their 's' variants being listed by Samsung Germany. Today, Samsung is bringing the Galaxy A30s and the Galaxy A50s to India with slight improvements under the hood, along with features like triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanners, and NFC. These add to the Galaxy A10s, which was launched in India last month.

On the surface, the two new smartphones come with new holographic designs. The material of constructions still remains to be Glasstic which is Samsung's choice for most mid-range devices these days. While the material is actually polycarbonate, it gives you the illusion that it's glass. Both the smartphone come in three dazzling color options. While neither of the phones supports wireless charging, there's NFC on both of these devices and this is to facilitate payments via Samsung Pay.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy A50s is now powered by a Samsung Exynos 9611 chipset, which as per the company comes with slightly better performance and is more efficient in terms of power consumption over the Exynos 9610 in the previous generation. The Galaxy A30s, on the other hand, comes with the same SoC – Exynos 7904 – as its predecessor. In terms of RAM, the lowest option now available in India is 4GB.

Notably, the resolution of the display on the Galaxy A30s has been dropped to HD+ and this is probably to justify the under-display fingerprint scanner. This HD+ display has a V-shaped notch while the Galaxy A50s has a U-shaped notch. This is an optical fingerprint scanner unlike the ultrasonic scanner on the Galaxy S10 and the Note 10 series.

When it comes to cameras, the Galaxy A50s comes with a 48MP primary sensor (we're not sure if this sensor is made by Samsung itself or by  Sony but will update the article once we get the confirmation from Samsung India), along with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A30s features a 25MP primary sensor but the other two are same as the A50s. The Galaxy A50s also sports a dedicated Night Mode and EIS, which is dubbed "Super Steady Video" mode by Samsung. The Galaxy A250s also supports the Air Doodle feature from the Galaxy Note 10 duo.

Feeding power to the Galaxy A50s and the A30s are 4000mAh batteries and both of the devices support fast charging at 15W.
