Sesame Shortcut v3 beta adds search UI with auto-suggestions & home screen widget

Last time we talked about Sesame Shortcuts it had just partnered with Nova Launcher. The integration made it easy to access Sesame Shortcuts from the Nova Launcher search. It was a match made in heaven, but Sesame Shortcuts works with plenty of other launchers as well. The latest update adds several features that users will appreciate.

If you’re not familiar with Sesame Shortcuts, it’s essentially a supercharged phone search. You can search for apps, app shortcuts, contacts, WhatsApp conversations, Netflix titles, Spotify playlists, and much more. It’s all accessible in one place, rather than digging through a dozen apps.

Here’s the changelog from version 3.0.0-beta5 (2018-06-06, build 9889):

  • Adds new, full-featured search UI, now with auto-suggestions
  • Adds fully customizable home screen widget for fast launching new UI
  • Re-builds Settings screens for improved clarity and user control
  • Numerous small bug and stability fixes

The search UI is much nicer to look at and it will make suggestions for searches while you’re typing. The new home screen widget puts all your Shortcuts just a tap away on any launcher. The widget is fully customizable in look and feel. When you tap the widget, a transparent keyboard appears and you can do a quick search.

You can download the latest beta from APK Mirror right here or sign up for the beta program from the Play Store. This is a phenomenal app that makes it much easier to find almost anything on your phone.
