The 5.5 inch 1080p Sony Xperia XA1 Plus Leaked Ahead of Launch

When Sony launches a new Xperia device it typically has a number of variants that come right along with it. Earlier this month we learned that the Japanese conglomerate would be releasing a couple of a new smartphones at IFA 2017. First we heard about the Xperia XZ1 flagship and then the very next day we got to see what is rumored to be the XZ1 Compact. Both of these will use high-end components but the company’s mid-range lineup this year looks to be the Xperia XA1 series. We have just learned some information about one of these models being called the Xperia XA1 Plus.

The current rumor surrounding the Xperia XA1 from Sony says it will launch right alongside the XZ1 and the XZ1 Compact at IFA this year. This device is said to come with a 5.5″ 1080p display, so it will sit right in between the 5″ Xperia XA1 and the 6″ Xperia XA1 Ultra. You can see a gallery of colors that the new mid-range smartphone will be available in, and it takes a lot of design cues from all of the other smartphones Sony has manufactured recently.

The Xperia XA1 Plus is said to have a fingerprint scanner on the side of the device while the other two in the XA1 series will not. Also, this Plus model will not feature a front-facing flash next to its 8MP selfie camera. Leaks suggest it will have the MediaTek MT6757 Helio P20 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It will have a 23MP camera on the back, support USB Type-C and have a battery with a 3,430mAh capacity.

That’s all the information we have on the device from this latest leak. Smartphones with this chipset are generally not sold in the United States, and we’ll have to wait and see how much the company plans to charge for it. If the initial information is all correct, we’ll see this officially launched at IFA this year.
