Tablet Oriented Launcher VTL.Launcher Now In Beta

Tablet Oriented Launcher VTL.Launcher Now In Beta

If you’ve been looking for a solid tablet orientated launcher, look no further as XDA forum member gojimi has written a launcher designed specifically with landscape tablets in mind.

VTL.Launcher is heavily based on ADW.Launcher’s source code (AnderWeb), and gojimi has removed items like the Phone Like dock bar and replaced with a sleek scrollable,drag-able, drop-able,rearrangeable application and shortcut dock.

On the dock, you can drag any Application, Shortcut, Browser Shortcut, Folder etc onto or off of and even drag them to different positions along the bar. Scrolling widgets are fully functional and the Launcher should work on virtually any device.

The XDA dev notes that on non large screen devices, users may need to play around with the desktop column and row numbers in order to correct the layouts.

For more information and to download the beta apk, head on over to the application thread.

I've been around XDA since 2007 when I bought the HTC Touch, well things have moved on a lot since then, and I've tried my hand at developing for WM and Android (still learning), but wanted to contribute more by becoming a News Writer for XDA. I write mainly Android articles, and some Windows Mobile. We're always sifting through the masses of threads for front page news, but do let me or the other guys know if you think anything is newsworthy including any breaking news!
