Just in time for the holidays, Google has announced a ton of new features for its Android operating system for Pixel devices with the December Android Feature Drop. The new features are sort of a mixed bag but should offer a lot of benefits for those using an Android smartphone, Wear OS smartwatch, Google Photos and the Google TV app. With that said, let's dig in.

Samsung’s speed with the rollout of One UI 5 based on Android 13 has been nothing short of impressive. We just saw the a bunch of mid-rangers pick up the stable One UI 5 release at the tail end of November. The saga continues, as the Android 13 updates are now arriving for yet another set of affordable 5G smartphones, including the Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy M42 5G, so that you can start the month of December on the right foot.

Samsung has been quite aggressive in rolling out One UI 5.0 to its phones and the "Fan Edition" AKA the FE variants of the Galaxy flagships have been no exception. After the stable Android 13 update started making its way to the Galaxy S20 FE in some parts of the world, the Korean OEM is now giving the same treatment to the Galaxy S21 FE. Furthermore, the Galaxy A71, Galaxy F62, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, and the Galaxy Tab S7 family have also picked up the One UI 5 update.

Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 is now available for the Google Pixel series
Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 has been released for supported Pixel smartphones and is now available for download.
Android 13 QPR1 was originally released towards the beginning of September, with Beta 2 landing at the beginning of last month and Beta 3 just being released a couple of weeks ago. Now, Google has delivered its latest Android update with the release of QPR1 Beta 3.1. It was just made available to supported Pixel devices, meaning if you have a Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, or Pixel 7 Pro, you can now download this update as long as you are in the beta track.

After rolling out two beta builds of One UI 5 based on Android 13 to its latest foldables in the last few weeks, Samsung is now rolling out a fresh beta build to Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 users. The latest update brings additional bug fixes to the devices, including a fix for the battery drain issue in the previous beta release.
Sony will roll out Android 13 updates for the Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV soon
The company has not shared a release timeline or update changelog at the moment.
