Canadians can now use the Pixel 5's "Hold For Me" feature to stay on the line
Canadians can now use the Google Pixel 5's "Hold for Me" feature to stay on the line while waiting on hold with a business.
Alongside the launch of the Google Pixel 5 and the Google Pixel 4a 5G last year, the company debuted a new Pixel-exclusive feature called "Hold for Me". It activates once you call a business and get put on hold, and you can either choose to stay on hold, and wait and stay attentive for when you finally connect to a person on the other end, or you can let Google Assistant do the waiting for you. Once a human is back on the line and ready to talk to you, Google Assistant will notify you with a sound, a vibration, and a screen prompt to jump back into the call. While at the time of launch it was a U.S.-exclusive feature, it now appears to be rolling out in Canada.

[Update: New Charges] Huawei's CFO was arrested in Canada over alleged Iran sanction violations
Huawei's CFO, Wanzhou Meng, was arrested in Canada on December 1st. She is facing extradition to the U.S. over alleged Iran sanction violations.
Depending on who you ask, Huawei is either the world's second or third largest smartphone brand in the world, surpassing even Apple during some previous fiscal quarters. Their impressive growth was achieved even without releasing a smartphone on a major mobile carrier in the U.S., though not for lack of trying. While it's clear that the company hasn't given up their ambitions to expand into the United States, their plans to do so may have become jeopardized. Huawei's Chief Financial Officer, Wanzhou Meng, who is also the daughter of the company's founder, was arrested in Canada on December 1st and is facing extradition to the United States for allegedly aiding in violating U.S.' sanctions on Iran.
OnePlus 7 Pro price cut by $100 in Canada, difference will be credited to existing buyers
The OnePlus 7 Pro has received a permanent price cut of $100 in Canada, and existing buyers will get the price difference as a credit.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the best flagship smartphones this year. The 7 Pro is OnePlus' first attempt at selling a Pro model, and while it's priced higher than any other OnePlus smartphone, it's still cheaper than comparable flagships. However, because OnePlus sells devices in many countries, its affordability may vary. For example, when the OnePlus 7 Pro initially launched in Canada, its base price was 999 CAD. This week, though, OnePlus has cut the price of all models of the OnePlus 7 Pro by 100 Canadian Dollars. Even better is that people who already bought the phone will get credit for the price difference.
