Dockcase's peripherals are always interesting in that the company likes to put screens on a lot of them, giving you live information about what's going on in them. In the past, I've tried some of the company's USB hubs and found them interesting, albeit a bit finicky. However, the Dockcase Pocket Photography Edition is a new kind of device; being a portable SSD enclosure, you can easily slip into a pocket while still having that display for live information.

The Dockcase Pro Explorer Edition is one of the coolest-looking USB-C hubs around, and it's packing some interesting features to boot. Like previous Dockcase hubs, it has a built-in display, which lets you see information about the connected devices. This model also has the benefits of being compatible with the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, in addition to modern laptops, so it's a great way to hook up these portable devices to a TV without a bulky official dock. Again, the design of it is very cool, too, thanks to the glass top cover and metal chassis.

Until recently, I didn't really find myself in need of a docking station all that frequently, but even some of the best laptops today a very limited selection of ports, and even if you don't have a ton of accessories, having a compact dock with some ports can be extremely helpful. That's the market DockCase seems to be focused on with the USB-C Visual Smart Hub 7-in-1, and it does a good job at what it sets out to do.
