At an event in China today, Honor unveiled their latest mid-range smartphones: the Honor 8X and the Honor 8X Max. These are mid-range smartphones with all of the hallmarks of a 2018 device: a notch, dual rear cameras, and large displays. There's a lot of information to take in, so let's break things down. Huawei is one of the few companies that consistently update their devices and fight to fix the state of the Android fragmentation. The list of Huawei and Honor devices which will get Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 was announced back in January. Today, Huawei keeping their promise and making Android Oreo-based EMUI 8 available those 7 devices. It is worth noting that these devices received an Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 beta update in China back in May. These devices include the Honor 8, Huawei P9, Huawei Mate 8, and more. It's always exciting when your phone gets a software update, and it's something that Android enthusiasts look forward to with great anticipation. Huawei debuted the newest version of its in-house Android skin, Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0, alongside the Mate 10 series in late 2017, and since then, folks in the community have been wondering about when their phones might get it. So far, we've seen it roll out to some Huawei and Honor phones, but there hasn't been much communication from Huawei. That changed this week, thankfully, with a post from the company on Chinese social network Weibo detailing which devices will get the Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 update.
