Almost three years after its release, Samsung has now unveiled the Galaxy Tab Active 3. The latest ruggedized tablet from the company features significant upgrades over its predecessor, including MIL-STD-810H certification for enhanced shock absorption, IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and the Exynos 9810 chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite Review: Democratizing the S Pen experience

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite brings the S Pen to the masses. Does it distinguish itself as an affordable flagship? Read on for our full review.

The Samsung Galaxy Note series has a rich history of being the first proper big-screen phones that gained widespread popularity. The original Galaxy Note familiarized the "phablet" term and conventionalized larger footprint devices. The S Pen created its own niche. Big displays took over the world. However, with the increase in popularity came the increase in pricing. Samsung has steadily increased the prices of the Galaxy Note series each generation, to the point where the top-end Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ costs $1,100/₹79,999. The price of admission for Samsung's most powerful phones each year has been creeping up. We know Galaxy Note users are loyal users because of the unique blend of functionality, but how loyal can they be in the face of stringent price increases? For how long can the consumer continue to pay top dollar for the latest Note flagship just to get the premium S Pen experience? Samsung is perfectly aware of this conundrum, and its answer to this question was to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite last month.

Just as Epic Games promised would happen, the free-to-play battle royale game 'Fortnite' finally became available last week. For the first 3 days of its release, the game was limited the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Tab S3, and Galaxy Tab S4. We expected a much longer exclusivity period, possibly limited to just the Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4, but it turns out the exclusive content is just a free skin and 15,000 V-Bucks (the in-game currency.) Now that the game is officially available for non-Samsung devices, we decided to do some quick gameplay tests on as many supported devices as we could and capture the performance data thanks to help from our friends at GameBench. We tested several devices with most of the supported chipsets—that being the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, Snapdragon 835, Snapdragon 845, Kirin 970, and Exynos 8895—just to get a feel for how well Fortnite Mobile on Android performs on most current Android smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is launching next month at Samsung Unpacked 2018. While the Android enthusiast community has been interested in the latest Samsung flagship due to its larger 4,000mAh battery and smart, Bluetooth S Pen features, the device itself seems mostly an iterative improvement over the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Samsung needs something truly special to entice the average buyer into considering the Galaxy Note 9. According to a trusted source, it seems that Samsung is partnering with Epic Games to launch the much-awaited Fortnite Mobile for Android with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy S9
The Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy S9 has a GPU Stability Bug that can be Exploited to Trigger Remote Reboots

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were launched in several markets including the U.S., Hong Kong, and parts of Latin America with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip. U.K. firm GraphicsFuzz discovered a GPU stability bug that can be exploited to trigger remote phone reboots/crashes.

The new Samsung Galaxy S9 includes the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip for several markets, including Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, and parts of Latin America. Samsung has often chosen the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC over their in-house Exynos SoC in some markets. This is usually the case in the United States, with the exception of the Samsung Galaxy S6. To the average consumer, there is little difference between the Exynos 9810 and Snapdragon 845 variants. Under-the-hood, however, the difference in chipsets can lead to wildly different experiences.
