Samsung has officially confirmed the death of the Galaxy Note series. The writing had been on the wall for some time now and, with the newly launched Galaxy S22 Ultra incorporating the best features of the Galaxy Note line, it was all but official that Samsung was done with the iconic smartphone lineup.

Samsung's Galaxy Note series has been a power-user favorite since its inception, thanks to the S Pen and the other interesting additions that the company did to differentiate the product from its Galaxy S series. But product evolution through the past few years brought the Note series and S series close to each other, to the point that Samsung just gave the S series S Pen support and decided not to release a Note this year. But the door was still not completely shut out for a 2022 Galaxy Note. If a new report emerging from South Korea is to be believed, that door is now being finally shut, and the Galaxy Note line finally killed.

Discussion: Should Samsung still launch a Galaxy Note this year?

With the Galaxy S21 Ultra getting S Pen support, should Samsung still launch a Galaxy Note device later this year? Let's discuss!

Samsung announced the Galaxy S21 series earlier this week, putting all speculations and rumors to an end. With a radical design, improved performance, new camera features, and more, the Galaxy S21 series makes for an interesting package. But if there's one feature that is set to rewrite the fate of Samsung's flagship lineup, it is stylus support. Samsung has partnered with Wacom to bring S Pen support — as well as the more advanced and upcoming S Pen Pro — to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. But this new advancement also blurs the lines between the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note series, and might even make the Note irrelevant sooner or later. When Samsung launches the Galaxy Note 21 later this year, would it still be as exciting as previous devices in the series?

Shortly after Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 20 series, we first saw reports about Samsung's plans to bring S Pen support to its next-gen Galaxy S series flagship. This led to rumors about the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note series. A recent report from South Korean publication AjuNews further fueled these rumors and claimed that it had received confirmation from a Samsung official that S Pen support was making its way to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will launch DeX without a special Samsung DeX Station or DeX Pad. All you will need is a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter.

Samsung launched Samsung DeX with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It was what Samsung believed to be the future of the mobile workstation, but it was pretty much a flop. Not very many people used DeX because the station was too expensive and inconvenient. Samsung is looking to make up for that with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Our source is saying that you will be able to use DeX without a special DeX Station or DeX Pad. All you will need is a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. WinFuture was able to corroborate this information first.
