Viper4ARISE team halts development on audio mod project
Viper4ARISE was one successor to Viper4Android. The team behind the project has confirmed they've halted all development.

For many, Viper4Android was their go-to audio enhancement solution and it actually still is for some. As new updates to Android roll out though, these projects need to be maintained or they simply stop working. Viper4ARISE was essentially the successor to Viper4Android and again, while it still works for certain devices running certain versions of Android, the team behind the project has confirmed they've halted development.
Sony Xperia XZ2 sound system ported to any rooted Android device
XDA Senior Member sirdoha ported Sony's Sound System features from the Xperia XZ2 so they work on all rooted Android devices.
Smartphone companies need to be innovative and use their marketing skills to come up with ways to differentiate themselves from the competition. Sony may not be selling as many devices as Samsung, Apple, or Xiaomi, but they have certainly turned around a previously floundering mobile division as of late. The company released the Xperia XZ2 back in April of this year and one of its selling points was what they called the Sony Xperia XZ2 Sound System. The feature includes sound enhancing technologies such as High-Resolution Audio, LDAC, and High-Resolution Audio with even compressed files sounding better thanks to DSEE HX.

Dolby Atmos on the Samsung Galaxy S9 promises better sound quality on both headphones and the speaker. The Samsung Galaxy S9 is the first Samsung device to get it, but XDA Senior Member ImbaWind has ported it to the Samsung Galaxy S8 as well. All it does is modify the build.prop and the floating-feature.xml file along with including some libraries.
OnePlus 6 announced to feature Dirac Power Sound and Dirac HD Sound
OnePlus has partnered with Swedish audio optimization firm Dirac once again, to offer the best audio experience on OnePlus 6.
Dirac is a Swedish audio firm that specializes in sound optimization. They are partnered with manufacturers like BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce and a lot more. Some smartphone OEMs, like Xiaomi, OPPO, Huawei and OnePlus have already used their technologies plenty of times. As it turns out, the later one is going to use them one more time. OnePlus officially announced that OnePlus 6 uses Dirac sound optimization technologies, namely Dirac Power Sound and Dirac HD Sound.
