Huawei is promising an EMUI 10 based on Android Q update for the Huawei P30, Huawei Mate 20, and a bunch of other devices.
These are complicated times for Huawei and Huawei fans. The US trade ban has put the company's future in limbo and consumers rightfully have a lot of questions. To combat some of the rumors and speculation, Huawei has published a "Huawei Answers" page to formally respond to some of the concerns. There's good news in these responses for Huawei fans who want EMUI 10 and Android Q.

A few days ago, Huawei unveiled the latest version of its EMUI software: EMUI 9. Based on Android 9 Pie, the latest version of EMUI brings a new design with a streamlined user interface, various unspecified software optimizations to improve performance, GPU Turbo 2.0, Huawei's take on Google's Digital Wellbeing service, and a new gesture navigation system on top of the standard Android Pie platform features. Huawei opened up applications for an EMUI 9 beta program but limited it to 100 members in select regions who own the Honor 10, Honor View 10, Honor Play, Huawei Mate 10/Mate 10 Pro, or Huawei P20/P20 Pro. The beta software that was shown off at IFA 2018 did not include the new gestures, but we managed to get our hands on an updated version of the EMUI 9 beta that does have the new gesture controls.

According to a teardown of the Huawei Mate 10's firmware, we now believe that the Huawei Mate 10 may offer ambient display and new gestures.
We are 4 days away from the official unveiling of the Huawei Mate 10 and its variants: the Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Lite, and Mate 10 Porsche Design. These devices will presumably be running Android Oreo with Huawei's EMUI 8.0 on top. Huawei is touting the many AI enhancements they have made on the HiSilicon Kirin 970 and we believe the company plans on using their AI for new camera modes.
Firmware Files Suggest Existence of Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design
According to firmware files that XDA has exclusively obtained access to, Huawei is set to launch the Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design on October 16th.
For most of us, the price of a smartphone is perhaps the most important factor when considering a new smartphone. That's why we balk at the rising prices of smartphones as seen in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the Google Pixel 2 XL. But for some, the price isn't that big of a deal. Some limited edition smartphones are catered towards those who really like a particular design or branding, and their price tags are often much heftier as a result. Last year, the Huawei Mate 9 was announced and, while the regular model retailed for around €699 the more expensive Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design retailed for $1,500 on Amazon. If you're a fan of the Porsche Design, then you'll be happy to know that Huawei will likely launch the Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design along with the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro this October 16th.
