We've already seen the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Mi 3, Mi 4, Redmi 4X, ZenFone Max Pro M1, and the OnePlus 2/3/3T/X receive unofficial ports of Android 9 Pie, and now the Honor View 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro are joining the short list of devices with ported Android 9 releases.

Fortnite Mobile on Android is a long-awaited upcoming release of an already massively popular game. Since launching on Apple iOS, users of Android smartphones and tablets have been wondering when Fortnite would launch on their devices too. The Android release has apparently been delayed as we recently reported that it will be launching as an exclusive with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. This exclusivity will supposedly last 30 days. After 30 days, Fortnite Mobile on Android will become available for all supported Android devices. The Android Oreo update for the Huawei P8 Lite 2017/Honor 8 Lite contains Project Treble support. This means that users can flash a Generic System Image of Android Oreo. They can also choose to install unofficial LineageOS 15.1 for the device.

The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 and the Honor 8 Lite are different names for the same phone. Both phones have the same list of specifications, which include the HiSilicon Kirin 655 system-on-chip, 3GB of RAM paired with 16GB of storage or 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of storage, 5.2-inch Full HD (1920x1080) IPS display, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and a 3000mAh battery. The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 was released in January 2017 with EMUI 5.0 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. The Honor 8 Lite was released a few months later for different markets.

HiSilicon's Kirin SoC are notorious for holding back devices on the development front, mostly due to a slow release of kernel sources, although the Kirin lineup itself is still impressive in terms of performance. On the other hand, phones built on Qualcomm SoCs tend to be much more developer friendly than Kirin devices thanks to the availability of sources.
