Android without Google and Google Mobile Services (GMS) is an alien concept to the average consumer, one that fundamentally alters the experience they have come to expect out of their Android smartphone. And because of certain political decisions, Huawei faces the unenviable task of convincing the world outside of China that it can provide a software experience on Android that can compete against the experience they have come to expect out of Google's Android. The Chinese company did have some foresight, as it had begun work on several avenues much before the political decisions, and these avenues then had to step up and fill in as replacements to crucial Google services and frameworks. Google announced Instant Apps back in May of 2016 during Google I/O. For those of you that don't know, Instant Apps don't require installing on your device. You just have to tap on the 'Try Now" button and it will open instantly. This is great for media or other kinds of small apps. Even game developers can use this feature to let users try their games before actually installing them. The concept is cool, and lots of developers have adopted it already.

Android Instant Apps were first showcased in Google I/0 2016. The premise was great: users could try out apps without the hassle of actually installing them. Instant Apps worked by breaking down a native app into small parts, which could be loaded faster and downloaded, then executed quickly. It displayed the UI screen for an app, and as soon as it was closed, it was removed and and did not need to be uninstalled, because it hadn't been installed in the first place.

Google Instant Apps is a feature that allows users to "stream" parts of existing Android applications so they can try the app out in its native look without having to install the app. Instant Apps requires small modifications from the developers' end, but once approved by Google to implement these changes these applications will be able to reach a wider audience as users organically share links to their friends and family. Instant Apps was initially introduced during Google I/O 2016 but it was only until January of this year that a few devices and a few apps could take advantage of Instant Apps.
