Compared to a traditional desk lamp, monitor light bars have their benefits, and BenQ's ScreenBar Halo is one of the best.

Lighting is an essential element needed to create a productive workspace, and that's why desk lamps have been a staple of home offices for basically forever. However, they're not without their own compromises. Desk lamps take up a lot of space on a desk, and might provide uneven light coverage. That's why some users are turning to great monitor light bars, which mount atop your monitor to light up your workspace. I've been using the BenQ ScreenBar Halo for a few weeks, and it's the best way to add some extra light to your desk setup. It offers great coverage, limited display reflections, easy adjustments, and even a light on the back to create a balanced lighting environment. At $180, the BenQ ScreenBar Halo is pricey, but it's a premium product that fulfills a real need.

BenQ LaptopBar review: Great lighting you can take anywhere

You've heard of monitor light bars, right? Now you can bring one with you for your laptop.

Desk lamps are on the way out, and monitor light bars are on the way in. They provide full-coverage lighting for your desk without taking up any extra space on your desktop. By mounting to your monitor, these light bars stay out of your way and can connect to your monitor's USB ports for a seamless experience. BenQ makes some of the best light bars out there, and the company had the idea of making one specifically for laptops. It might seem like a strange idea, but BenQ's LaptopBar is a simplistic, feature-rich, and portable way to add light to your mobile workstation. It's easy to recommend for people who need good lighting to be productive — as long as you can stomach the $140 price tag.

Smartphones with multi-camera arrays of 4 and even 5 lenses have become quite commonplace these days, but this is actually only a recent trend that's come about. Light is a camera company that is one of the innovators in multi-camera smartphones, and their technology can be found in HMD Global's Nokia 9 PureView. Unlike other penta-camera phones like the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 where each lens serves different purposes, the Nokia 9 PureView featured five 12MP lenses (three monochrome lenses and two color ones) that work in conjunction to produce a better photo. Before their entry into the smartphone space, Light made a name with the Light L16 camera which featured a crazy 16 lenses and was hyped as a threat to DSLRs. But now, Light has confirmed to Android Authority that it is quitting the smartphone industry.
