Realme's first tablet features budget specs and a low price tag
Chinese tech brand Realme has made its first tablet, called the Realme Pad. It has a 10.4-inch screen, budget specs, and a low price tag.
Realme started out as a budget smartphone sub-brand under OPPO before spinning off into its own company (but still under the BBK umbrella) in 2018. Since then, the company has launched dozens of smartphones at many different price points in Europe and Asia, putting the heat on established brands like Xiaomi and Samsung. Like other smartphone companies, Realme has expanded its reach into the audio accessory, lifestyle technology, and IoT markets. One category that Realme hasn't dared to leap into thus far is tablets, though that's changing today with the launch of the Realme Pad.

The new Realme Narzo series includes two new phones – Narzo 10 and 10A – powered by MediaTek G series chipsets and focus on photography.
MediaTek announces the Helio G80 chip aimed at mobile gaming on a budget
MediaTek, a fabless chip design company known for its range of budget and mid-range chips, has announced the Helio G80 aimed at mobile gaming.
Taiwanese chip design company MediaTek is expanding its line of mid-range SoCs today with the introduction of the Helio G80. MediaTek's G series of Helio chips is aimed at delivering great performance in mobile games without increasing the price significantly beyond the reach of the average consumer. The first chip in the Helio G series was the Helio G90/G90T, announced back in July of last year and shipping in the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Last month, MediaTek announced the Helio G70 aimed at budget-oriented gaming devices, and Realme has confirmed its upcoming Realme C3 will feature the chip. The new Helio G80 is slotted between the G70 and the G90, though in terms of performance, it's closer to the G70 than the G90. We expect to see the G80 appear in budget gaming smartphones shipping later in India this month.
