A couple of weeks ago, Motorola unveiled a slew of budget-friendly phones under its Moto G series in Europe. Today the Lenovo-owned company is bringing one of them to India: the Moto G31. The new model succeeds the Moto G30 that came out earlier this year though it doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of upgrades and improvements beyond a new camera sensor and a more vibrant screen.

MediaTek has refreshed its budget-friendly Helio chipset lineup with two new additions: MediaTek Helio G96 and Helio G88. The Helio G96 succeeds the Helio G95, while the G88 is a follow-up to the Helio G85. If the smaller number bump didn't already tip you off, both chips are a minor upgrade over their predecessors. There aren’t any drastic changes to the CPU or GPU architecture, if at all, but there are some improvements to display support, connectivity, and camera.

Realme has aggressively expanded its portfolio in India, riding upon success in the budget and early mid-range segments. Back in May 2020, the company launched its Narzo series in India with the Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A (which were supposed to launch in March 2020, but had to be delayed because of COVID-19 lockdowns). Now, shortly after the launch of the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro, and six months after the originally scheduled launch of the first Narzo 10, the Chinese OEM is back with the new Narzo 20 series, alongside the release of the Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. Xiaomi's Redmi Note series is one of its best selling series worldwide, playing a pivotal role in the brand's image and value perception. However, Xiaomi's branding, re-branding, and staggered releases leave a lot of us confused, especially for this year. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India back in March 2020. The Redmi Note 9 Pro then launched globally as the Redmi Note 9S in the same month. Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek has expanded its gaming-focused Helio G series of chipsets with a new addition in the form of Helio G85. We first learned about the Helio G85 with the launch of the Redmi Note 9 last month which was the first phone to be powered by this new SoC. However, our knowledge about the exact details and specs of the chipset was quite limited at the time. Now, MediaTek has finally shed more light on the new SoC.
