Adding on to its list of gaming-focused Helio G series chipsets, Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek has now unveiled the budget-friendly Helio G35 and Helio G25. The new budget chips come just a month after the company unveiled the mid-range Helio G85, which is an octa-core processor that's built on a 12nm process. Much like the Helio G85, both the Helio G25 and Helio G35 are fabricated on a 12nm manufacturing process.

Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek has expanded its gaming-focused Helio G series of chipsets with a new addition in the form of Helio G85. We first learned about the Helio G85 with the launch of the Redmi Note 9 last month which was the first phone to be powered by this new SoC. However, our knowledge about the exact details and specs of the chipset was quite limited at the time. Now, MediaTek has finally shed more light on the new SoC. The Helio G85 is an upgraded variant of the Helio G80 and aims to deliver a high-performance mobile gaming experience on a budget.

Android smartphones come in a wide variety of options, but the real options when it comes to phone SoCs are fairly limited. The mobile chip market is limited to only a handful of players for the most part, namely Qualcomm, Samsung, HiSilicon and MediaTek. Qualcomm recently announced the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus — an upgraded version of their flagship SoC with an overclocked CPU and GPU to offer even better gaming performance in the flagship segment. Now, MediaTek is taking the opportunity to introduce its new Helio G-series chipsets — the new Helio G90 and Helio G90T, promising to bring improved gaming performance in the budget space; along with MediaTek HyperEngine Game Technology.
