Microsoft has a temporary fix for broken Surface Pro X cameras
If your Surface Pro X's camera isn't working, Microsoft has deployed a troubleshooter to help address the issue.
Ever since last week, Surface Pro X owners, and those with other Windows PCs that have an Arm-based chip under the hood have been reporting issues with their webcams. Windows would simply spit out an error code when trying to use the integrated webcam in any given app. The issue has now been acknowledged by Microsoft and mitigated with a workaround while the Redmond firm works with device manufacturers and driver partners on a permanent fix.

Geekbench scores have appeared for what's likely to be Microsoft's next-generation Surface Pro X, with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.
It's been well over two years since Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro X, its first ARM-based PC since the ill-fated Windows RT-powered Surface RT and Surface 2. Since then, the Pro X has received two very minor refreshes. A year after the first one came out, there was a new one with an SQ2 processor. But while many Surfaces have seen full-gen upgrades over a new chip, the SQ2 was such a minor change that it was just considered a new configuration of the SQ1 model. The second update was a Wi-Fi only variant, lowering the price point for the tablet, where 4G LTE previously came standard.
