Kernel sources for the Motorola Moto E7/E7 Plus and a truckload of Xiaomi devices are now available
Kernel sources for the Motorola Moto E7 series and several Xiaomi phones, including the Mi Note 10 Lite, are now available for download.
Since Android is built on top of the Linux kernel, Android device makers have to provide, upon customer request, the source code for any Linux kernel binaries that ship on their devices. That includes not only the release date software, but also any subsequent updates to the kernel. The availability of such sources allow the modding community to add new capabilities that are otherwise not offered in the stock configuration. Kernel source releases also help developers to port popular custom ROMs (e.g. LineageOS) for the device which, in turn, benefit users who aren’t satisfied with the stock ROM. OEMs like Xiaomi and Motorola maintain a steady track record of releasing these sources and we now have another example of their commitment towards the aftermarket developer community.
Moto E7 Plus with Snapdragon 460 and 5000mAh battery launches internationally
Motorola has officially unveiled its Snapdragon 460-powered Moto E7 Plus. The budget smartphone has a 48MP camera and a 5,000mAh battery.
Following the launch of the Moto G9 Plus yesterday, Motorola has now announced the budget-friendly Moto E7 Plus in Brazil. As seen in previous leaks, the new E7 Plus is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 460 chip, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The device features a 5,000mAh battery and a 48MP dual-camera setup on the back.
OnePlus 8T, OPPO Reno4, Moto G9 Plus, and Moto E7 Plus forums are now open
We've now opened forums for the upcoming OnePlus 8T and the recently launched OPPO Reno4 4G, Moto G9 Plus, and Moto E7 Plus.
Earlier this month, we opened forums for three new devices, including the Realme 7, Realme 7 Pro, and the ZTE Axon 20 5G. Since then, OEMs have launched quite a few interesting devices, like the OPPO Reno4, Moto G9 Plus, and Moto E7 Plus. On top of that, OnePlus has also announced that it will be unveiling its next flagship — the OnePlus 8T — next month.
