The LineageOS team has extended LineageOS 19 support to a wide range of devices since the ROM debuted earlier this year. Motorola Moto Z Play & Moto G 2015 get unofficial Android Pie ports
An AOSP Android 9 Pie ROM is available for the Motoroola Moto Z Play. Also, an unofficial build of LineageOS 16.0 is available for the Moto G 2015.
It didn't take long for the development community to start porting Android 9 Pie to older devices. Android Pie's source code was uploaded on August 6 after the roll-out of official updates for the Google Pixel/Xl and the Google Pixel 2/XL. For Xiaomi devices, the development community ported Android Pie to older devices particularly quickly. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 received a stable Android 9 Pie port with everything working, and the port was then ported to the Xiaomi Redmi 4X. Other Xiaomi phones such as the Xiaomi Mi 3/Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi A1, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro have also received unofficial AOSP Android 9 ports. In terms of other device makers, the popular Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 has received an AOSP Android 9 Pie port. Now, the Motorola Moto Z Play and the Moto G 2015 are joining the list of phones that have received unofficial Pie ports.
Navigation Gestures updated with better Nav Bar hiding, App Launch action, Android P compatibility, & more
Navigation Gestures by XDA brings iPhone X style gesture control to any Android device. We've been hard at work and our latest update brings a lot!
We launched our Navigation Gestures app a little over 3 weeks ago, and since our last update, we've been hard at work to address the overwhelming amount of feedback we've received. Our app, which was originally designed to be a simple gesture control app based on the Apple iPhone X's gestures, has since gained a lot of customization features. We're not stopping there, either, as a future update will allow users to create gesture navigation controls in the vein of the OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 6. If you're tired of all the screen real-estate that your boring software navigation buttons take up, then you should give our latest app update a try. It's totally free for all of the basic actions and settings!

Moto Display APK from Moto Z Play Oreo Update Adds Notification Dots and Landscape Mode
If you're eager to get your hands on the new Moto Display APK with notification dots and a landscape mode, the wait's over: It's been extracted from the Moto Z Play's Oreo update.
Motorola develops a number of features for its smartphones, but it doesn't include (or update) all of them on every device it sells. For example, we recently highlighted a Moto Display update pulled from a Moto X4 that was newer than the version in the Moto Z's latest firmware. Now, XDA Senior Member abhishekiswithyou was able to get his hands on more Motorola apps, including the File Manager, Contacts, and Moto Display APK files from the recent Moto Z Play Oreo update. Those who haven't received the update yet (or who don't want to install it) will be happy to hear that the apps don't require Oreo. The features work perfectly on Moto Z Play devices running Android Nougat -- even the Moto Display app's notification dots and landscape mode.

Late last year, XDA Senior Member TigerCourage ported the 2016 Motorola Gallery to many Android 6.0+ devices. This was tested on the Moto Z2 Play but the Edit Photos option did not work. So XDA Senior Member Junior Passos took the version of the application that comes with the Moto X Style and was able to get it working on the Moto Z Play as well as the Z2 Play. They also changed the icon so that it matched the look of the Moto Z2 Play.
