Ever since Google rolled out the first stable Android 11 build for its Pixel devices back in September last year, several OEMs have followed suit and released the update to some of their flagship and mid-range devices. However, there are still many devices for which the update hasn’t rolled out yet — particularly some legacy models where updates are not as much of a priority as they are on newer devices. This, however, doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily going to be left behind. Google’s ARCore (now Google Play Services for AR) is an SDK that allows developers to add augmented reality features to apps. While it doesn’t require any specialized hardware, Google still has to work with OEMs to create custom calibration profiles for each device. Since each device has a different camera and sensor setup, getting the calibration correct is crucial for the AR features to work properly. Google regularly keeps expanding the list as more and more devices receive support, and since our last coverage, many more devices have gained official support for ARCore.

Even throughout changes made to the company's lineup and business tactics/strategies, Motorola phones remain a fan favorite for some people. While they're no longer as affordable as they were in the past, and while software updates aren't nearly as frequent as they used to be, their relative developer-friendliness, close-to-stock Android software, and brand familiarity have managed to keep the company afloat. They recently came back to the public spotlight with the Motorola Razr 2019, a refresh of a classic Motorola icon which brings foldable displays to a friendlier, more common form factor. And the company is definitely not done yet, as the launch of the Motorola One Hyper demonstrates.
