Android 13 could support spatial audio with head tracking on compatible devices
Android 13 could fully support spatial audio with head tracking, assuming the device and audio product are compatible with it.
Spatial audio with head tracking reimagines how we enjoy listening to our music and video content. For those unfamiliar with the technology, it provides a 3D sound experience that reacts to the listener's movements. It requires a compatible device, speaker, and audio file. Once you meet the prerequisites, the sound will adapt as you move your head. This allows you to experience a very realistic output that easily defeats traditional, regular audio. Some iPhone and AirPods models already take advantage of the feature in supported apps. On the other hand, Google has been working on it since Android 12L -- which includes partial support for it. Android 13 could finally bring full support for spatial audio with head tracking, assuming you meet the feature's requirements.
Winamp announces 're-imagined' update, but it's not what you think
Winamp, the much-loved music player application from the late 90s and early 2000s, is promising a "re-imagined" update.
Winamp was a music player first released in 1997, which quickly grew in popularity as one of the best media players for PCs. However, it started to lose steam after a string of poorly-received updates in the early 2000s, and there have been a number of short-lived attempts to revive the project. Winamp is now under active development again, but the latest revival doesn't sound too similar to the original application.

Features like SD card support, new album sort options, and quality selection were promised in August 2018; Android Auto support was added in February 2019, the ability to play locally stored media finally came in May 2019, and the Android widget finally came in October 2019. And now, finally, YouTube Music is rolling out gapless playback support for albums on Android and web.
AutoTagger helps you organize your local music collection with batch editing and tagging
AutoTagger by XDA Member Creati8e lets you edit tags on your music files, with a special focus on batch operations and organizing your music library.
Android is a mature OS, and music apps are a dime a dozen on the platform. Users are spoilt for choice when it comes to music players, as there are far too many options available. If you prefer streaming your music, your choices will include Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play Music (if you still use it), and YouTube Music. But music streaming may not always be a valid option, in which case you would rely on apps like Poweramp, Libre Music, or others to play music that is stored on your device. Streaming apps tend to be very good with their organization, but when you opt for local music playback, that job falls upon you. If you like to store your music locally, AutoTagger can help you keep your library well organized.

Waze has added 7 new audio streaming services. As of right now, this includes Pandora, Deezer, iHeartRadio, NPR One, Scribd, Stitcher, and TuneIn.
Many, many people have long commutes to work. This mostly happens around metro cities where people wake up and start their drive 2 or even 3 hours before they need to be at work. Rush hour traffic can be incredibly stressful (both going to and coming from work) so listening to some music can help make that time go by faster. Last year, the navigation application Waze announced integration with Spotify, one of, if not the, most popular online streaming music services. The team behind the application has had such a positive response from the community about this feature that they have now added support for 7 new streaming services directly in the application.
Poweramp 3.0 Overview - Android's Most Powerful Music Player is Still Kicking [Giveaway]
Poweramp is one of the most popular and powerful music players on Android, and it's gotten even better in version 3.0. Here's an overview and a giveaway.
Many people these days have switched over to music streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, or YouTube Music. Long gone are the days for many when their phone used to be filled to the brim with MP3 files, as streaming has become so much more convenient for many, myself included. Still, there are times when locally stored music has its own advantages over streamed media. For example, you can store files in FLAC format, a lossless codec which promises the highest sound quality possible. Files are larger, sure, but they sound better on higher quality headsets and speakers. That's without getting into the data usage of streaming media, even if you can save songs locally on your service of choice as well. If you prefer to use locally stored media, then you'll need a music player for that, which is where Poweramp comes in.
YouTube Music gets updated with Android Auto support
You can finally use YouTube Music to play media on your Android Auto-powered car infotainment system and the Android Auto app on Android smartphones.

A feature which YouTube Music users have desired for a long time is the support for Android Auto and Google is now granting that wish.

Popular Indian streaming service JioMusic renamed to JioSaavn, offers free 90-day Pro trial
After all these months the transformation has been made with the Saavn app being renamed to JioSaavn Music & Radio (on iOS first).
Music streaming services are booming these days with more and more people becoming connected to the internet. The music industry blamed piracy on sinking profits when it was actually just people transitioning from a physical medium (CDs) to a digital world (MP3s and streaming). Saavn was founded back in 2006 as a completely different service (B2B), but a few years later they pivoted to become a music streaming service and grew to be valued at over $1 billion. It was in March of this year when Reliance Industries took a major stake in the company with an agreement made to combine Saavn with its own music service, JioMusic. After all these months the transformation has been made with the Saavn app in the iOS App Store being renamed to JioSaavn Music & Radio.
Xiaomi AirDots are affordable wireless earphones
The Xiaomi AirDots are affordable wireless earphones that you can reserve in China now. There isn't any information on a global launch yet.
With more and more smartphones getting launched without a headphone jack, users have begun to look towards alternatives. From the likes of USB-C earphones to going straight to Bluetooth, there isn't really one solution that fits everyone's needs or wants. Bluetooth earphones are expensive, and USB-C headphones are rare to come by. However, Xiaomi is launching the Xiaomi AirDots, a set of Bluetooth earphones, at an affordable price on November 11th. They only cost 199 Yuan, roughly $28.
Spotify now lets you download 10,000 tracks per device
The rules have changed from limiting paying Spotify customers from 3,333 songs on 3 devices to 10,000 tracks per device for up to 5 devices.
Companies in a lot of markets like to point their finger at piracy when it comes to a drop in sales. However, many people turn to piracy due to price and convenience. We have watched Gabe Newell turn millions of gaming pirates into loyal buyers and some would say the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, did something similar when he left as the CEO of μTorrent and shifted his expertise over to the music industry. Still, not everyone is happy with the limitations that Spotify has with its service, but one of those limitations has just been increased more than threefold.

It's always annoying when you find a cool Android app but it doesn't just work. Maybe it has some extra feature baked in that messes up the whole app, such as an abundance of advertisements or other needless features. This is especially frustrating when you're looking for something simple, like a lyrics app. "1 Lyrics" on XDA Labs is a new application that does exactly you want. A simple overlay can be displayed over any app with the lyrics of the song you're currently listening to. It works perfectly with Google Play Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and more!
Spotify is testing a sleep timer, but only for podcasts
A set of four screenshots of the Spotify application has been leaked, thanks to @wongmjane, where it shows a sleep timer option, but only for podcasts.
There are a lot of online music streaming services to choose from right now. The more popular options include the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora, Tidal, and YouTube Music. With this much competition going on it pushes each company to improve their platform and innovate whenever possible so they have a unique feature the competition doesn't have. Spotify added support for podcasts, video, and context-based listening back in 2015, and their podcast selection keeps growing. Some leaked screenshots indicate that the developers over at Spotify are working on adding a sleep timer to their application, but one that only works with podcasts.
Google fixes Play Music library issues in Google Assistant
Google has finally fixed the Google Assistant so that it can play purchased and uploaded music from your Google Play Music library on Google Home.
Google has finally fixed one of the biggest annoyances with the Google Assistant in recent months. For whatever reason, while the Google Assistant (and the Google Home) could play music, you couldn't play your uploaded or purchased songs on Google Play Music. It's a huge issue for those with devices that portray themselves as home entertainment devices such as the Google Home Max. Not being able to play your own music is a pretty big issue, but Google has finally fixed it. Previously, it was very limited in terms of what you could actually listen to as a free user of Google Play Music.
