We spoke with Kinder Liu, President & CEO of OnePlus, and Dr. Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek's Wireless Communications Business Unit.
OnePlus has been making use of MediaTek chipsets for a little while now, packing the Dimensity 1200 in the Nord 2 and the 1300 in the OnePlus Nord 2T. With the Nord 3, we've seen the company pack a Dimensity 9000, a significant step-up and a flagship-tier chipset that gave Qualcomm more than a run for its money when its plus variant was pitted against the next-generation's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. We spoke with Kinder Liu, OnePlus President and COO, and MediaTek's Dr. Yenchi Lee, the Deputy General Manager of MediaTek's Wireless Communications Business Unit, to learn more about choosing the Dimensity 9000 for the Nord 3.
OnePlus Nord N30 Review: A decent but unremarkable entry-level phone
The Nord N30 could be had for as low as $269. I suppose I can't nitpick at this price, but OnePlus can and should've done better.
OnePlus' new entry-level phone, the Nord N30, brings mostly the same experience as last year's Nord N20, which we thought was a good-looking, serviceable phone with some odd choices. This is all true with this year's device. The phone looks great (unfortunately, it looks better than it feels), and there's not much to complain about with display, processor, and general UI performance at this price point. But the cameras are seriously underwhelming.
