OPPO has just has just shared a timeframe for the next batch of smartphones that will be receiving the stable ColorOS 11 in January 2021.
OPPO unveiled the latest version of its custom skin, ColorOS 11, four months ago. Although the beta version of ColorOS 11 is already available for several OPPO devices to try out, the stable version is only available for only a handful of devices such as the OPPO Find X2 series, F17 Pro, and Reno 4 series. But that should change soon as the company is planning to expand the stable rollout to more OPPO smartphones in the coming weeks.

OPPO's ColorOS is known for borrowing inspiration from the design elements of iOS, but with the introduction of ColorOS 7 (our review), the company performed a complete visual overhaul on their custom UX while upgrading the underlying layer to Android 10. With the passage of time, the company published a preliminary timeline regarding the update rollout plan for the global units and eventually started beta testing of ColorOS 7 on the OPPO F11 series. After continuing the public beta event on several other phones for a while, OPPO has now started pushing out the stable Android 10 update to the global variants of the OPPO Reno2, OPPO Reno Z, OPPO F11, OPPO F11 Pro, OPPO A9, and the OPPO R17.

In December, we saw the company rolling out a beta version of Android 10 to the global variant of the Oppo F11 and OPPO F11 Pro. Now, the company has started recruiting beta testers for more Oppo devices in India including the Find X series and R17 series.

Late last month, OPPO announced the latest version of its Android skin — ColorOS 7 — based on Android 10 in China. Soon thereafter, the company announced ColorOS 7 for global markets at an event in New Delhi. We got a chance to experience the new software with all the new features and UI changes, but the software is yet to make it to end-users. While OPPO and Realme plan to start rolling out ColorOS 7 to their devices early next year, the companies have started testing the software with a select group of users. Realme has already started ColorOS 7 beta recruitments for its flagship Realme X2 Pro. Now, OPPO is following suit with a trial version of the software for the OPPO F11 series.

Google's ARCore (now Google Play Services for AR) is an SDK that allows developers to add augmented reality features to apps. While it doesn't require any specialized hardware, Google still has to work with OEMs to create custom calibration profiles for each device. Since each device has a different camera and sensor setup, getting the calibration correct is crucial for the AR features to work properly. Over the last few months, Google has whitelisted a number of new devices to support ARCore and now the company has added the Realme X2/X2 Pro, OPPO Reno 2, LG G8X, and more to the list.

The Oppo F11 Pro smartphone has been officially announced and it's already available for pre-order via Amazon India right now.
Back in January, we saw some photos of an upcoming OPPO smartphone with a pop-up camera. It was unclear what this device would be called, but rumors suggested it would either be the OPPO R19 or OPPO F11. We saw the phone was running Color OS 6 based on Android Pie with dual-SIM capabilities. A couple of weeks later, it was revealed that this was going to be the F11 Pro, it would be equipped with a 48MP camera, and it would be launching in India. Some more rumors were revealed about the device then but now the smartphone has been officially announced and it's available for pre-order via Amazon India right now.
