PIine64 has unveiled the PinePhone Pro as their flagship Linux powered-smartphone, and an upgrade to the original Pinephone. It's a pretty big spec jump with more RAM, more storage, better cameras, a nicer display, and a Rockchip RK399S hexa-core processor running at 1.5GHz. However, with souped-up internals comes a higher price tag, and the PinePhone Pro will set you back $399. In contrast, the original PinePhone cost $150, though its specifications weren't great.

PinePhone will come with KDE's Plasma Mobile operating system out-of-the-box, as the PinePhone KDE Community Edition goes up for preorder.
Pine64, makers of PinePhone, the Linux powered, completely open mobile device, has joined forces with software community KDE for a special edition. The PinePhone KDE Community Edition will run Plasma Mobile, the mobile version of KDE’s Plasma graphical workspace environment. KDE says that Plasma Mobile “includes most of the essential features a smartphone user would expect and its functionalities increase day by day.”
