Plugable is a company that makes plenty of Thunderbolt docking stations to cater to all kinds of different needs. I've reviewed many products from the company in the past, and now, I have the Plugable TBT4-UD5, the company's latest addition. It's yet another solid dock, and one that comes easy to recommend when you consider how affordable it is compared to more premium options.

Generally speaking, I've always had good experiences with Plugable's docking stations and USB-C hubs, and the company has some great options in its lineup. The latest addition is the Plugable TBT4-UDX1, a USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 docking station aimed at the higher-end market.

I've had plenty of experience with Plugable over the past couple of years, and I know I can usually expect some great USB-C docking stations from the company. The Plugable UD-MSTH2 is one of the more recent additions to the lineup, and it's also one of the more affordable ones, at least compared to options like the 16-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Dock (TBT4-UDZ1) I reviewed a few months ago.

I've reviewed a few docking stations in the past here at XDA, but never have I been more impressed by one than the Plugable 16-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station. This is one of the most capable docks you can get to add a few more ports to your laptop, and even at its official price, it's very competitively priced, and an easy recommendation compared to its peers. But if the usual price was still too high for you, then Black Friday is the event you've been waiting for. This exclusive Amazon Prime Deal has brought my favorite docking station yet to the lowest price I've ever seen on it.

Plugable makes a lot of docking stations, catering to different segments of the market. That includes one of the best Thunderbolt docks, but it costs quite a lot of money, which could be a big problem. If you want a cheaper solution, the Plugable USB-C Triple HDMI Display Docking Station (UD-3900PDH) might just be for you.

Plugable has been making a name for itself with some pretty good docking stations. The first one that caught my eye was the Triple 4K Docking Station that I reviewed last year, which supported three 4K displays without Thunderbolt support. As somebody with an AMD-powered laptop, this ended up very useful. One of the company's latest additions is the Plugable 16-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Dock (TBT4-UDZ), which is the first fully-featured Thunderbolt 4 docking station it's ever made.

Some of the best Chromebooks these days are going in the same direction as Windows laptops, stripping out classic ports like HDMI or Ethernet in favor of Thunderbolt or USB-C. These are modern ports, but you'll need a dock to connect your Chromebook to multiple displays or a wired internet connection. There are a lot of great Chromebook docking stations, many of which pass Google's tests and carry the Works with Chromebook certification, but none of these docks were made by Plugable.

Plugable USB C Stand Dock
Plugable USB-C Stand Dock review: Helping make your tablet more useful

The Plugable USB-C Stand dock combines a stand and docking station into one handy device, helping to turn your tablet into a proper workstation.

One of the cool parts of owning a great tablet like the iPad Pro or Surface Pro 9 is the versatility. Attach the Type Cover keyboard to the Surface Pro 9 and you get a laptop-like experience. Or with an iPad, you can prop the iPad Pro into the Magic Keyboard, so you get a device great for more casual computing. What's not so great about these devices, though, is the port selection. Tablets (and phones) don't have a lot of ports like a traditional laptop might, so this complicates using them for work.

The new product, USB-C Stand Dock (UDS-7IN1), doubles as a stand but also turns any tablet with a USB-C connectivity into a full-blown workstation by adding a plethora of ports to your device. It's Plugable's first docking station designed just for tablets and phones.

The four connected displays can all have up to 1080p resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Until recently, I had never used a docking station before, but when Plugable reached out to me to offer the USB-C Triple 4K Display Docking Station (UD-ULTC4K for short) for review, I was intrigued. This is a revised version of the previous dock with the same name, but it's no minor refresh. This new model comes with some big improvements both inside and out.
