Between Xiaomi and its various sub-brands, the company seemingly has a new phone out every few weeks. This would be annoying if these releases were mediocre, but that's not the case. Xiaomi's flagship phones have gotten very good over the years -- not just a contender to challenge for the top spot of our Best Android Phones list, but even our Best Phones list, period. And its budget and mid-tier offerings usually offer more value than competitors at the same price point.

Team Win Recovery Project, or TWRP for short, has been around for several years now and it has grown to become the go-to option for the Android community to replace the stock recovery on their devices with a more advanced and feature-rich substitute. For most users, installing any kind of aftermarket software modification, whether it be a custom ROM, custom kernel, Magisk, or other tool, requires the use of TWRP. The custom recovery is open source and it supports hundreds of devices. Today, the project has been bumped to version 3.6.0, bringing Android 11 support, many improvements in decryption, new features, a whole lot of newly supported devices, and a major change to the way TWRP is installed.

Xiaomi introduced its sister brand POCO back in 2018 with the POCO F1 which had high-end specs at an aggressive price. The POCO F1 stood for speed and focused on the SoC more than other aspects like design and cameras. The POCO X3 Pro also does pretty much the same, making it a spiritual successor to the POCO F1. At launch, the POCO X3 Pro was priced at £249 for the 256GB variant which was quite competitive by itself. However, thanks to Black Friday sales, the POCO X3 Pro can now be picked up for just £159 which is a steal if you're looking for a powerful smartphone on a budget.

POCO X3 Pro launches in India as a spiritual successor to the original POCO F1

POCO has just launched the POCO X3 Pro in India, featuring a 6.67-inch 120Hz display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC, four cameras and more.

After launching the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3 globally last week, POCO is now bringing the POCO X3 Pro to the Indian shores. The earlier models in the series, the POCO X2 and POCO X3 have been quite popular in the mid-range space and the company is hoping to repeat the same magic with the latest entry in the POCO X series. Though the POCO X3 Pro may seem like just a carbon copy of the POCO X3 from the outside, it packs much more powerful hardware on the inside. POCO is positioning the POCO X3 Pro as a spiritual successor to the OG POCO F1 and as far as raw hardware and pricing are concerned, it does appear to be a fitting "successor", packing the powerful Snapdragon 860 SoC, much faster UFS 3.1 flash storage, a 12oHz display and more.

The POCO X3 NFC made waves in the latter half of 2020 when it offered something that much of the competition could not -- powerful mid-range specs and a 120Hz display all at a low price. In Europe, you could pick it up for around €200 at launch, and I have personally recommended it to a number of friends after I spent some time with the device. The Snapdragon 732G that powered it was found in much more expensive mid-range smartphones like the Google Pixel 4a. Just when you thought POCO couldn't do it again, the POCO X3 Pro is launched, and it aims to do everything that its predecessor could do - with a whole lot more on top.

We’re all old enough to remember POCO’s very first device, the POCO F1, in 2018. The POCO F1 made a lot of headlines back in the day, featuring a flagship-grade SoC, the Snapdragon 845, at a price tag that challenged mid-range devices with much slower internals. That phone was considered a one-off until POCO's brand relaunch in 2020, this time with a lot more phones with different specifications and pricing.

POCO's current lineup of cheap yet performant smartphones loosely resembles the brand's first smartphone dubbed the POCO F1. While the brand's first device was an aggressively cheap "flagship killer" equipped with the Snapdragon 845, their later devices have mostly been cheaper mid-range phones that are respectable on their own rights. The POCO X3, though, was one of the best mid-range phones of 2020, offering a 120Hz display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 732G, and an overall amazing bang for the buck considering its price tag. The upcoming POCO X3 Pro seems like it'll offer a similar value proposition, and thanks to an online retailer, we now know basically everything about the new smartphone.

POCO’s X series is arguably the most popular smartphone lineup of the fledgling company. The POCO X2 was the first smartphone to launch under the new series. It took up the reins from the OG POCO F1 to deliver a highly competitive hardware package at an affordable price tag. The POCO X2 was well-received among the enthusiasts, and so was the POCO X3 that followed suit seven months later. Now, the company is preparing to introduce a third model in the form of the POCO X3 Pro. POCO has been teasing the new phone's launch on its social media account for a while now, and today we are getting our first look at the device.
